Gorillaz returns to the limelight with their first noteworthy album since Plastic Beach, with rich Indian / Hindustani influences striking right through the core of this album, which gives of a striking and enduring listen straight from the get go. The intro track shrouds the listener in its lush tropical mountain vibe, with graceful chimes and wind instruments that bless the listeners ears. The following songs bring back that classic Gorillaz synth pop, with happy and upbeat songs that breathe that hopefulness of life into the album. The album in good old Gorillaz fashions features an array of collaborations, most notably from Black Thought and Yasiin Bey who deliver bold and powerful lyrical performances over the exuberant production.
