Went on a huge unfollowing spree yesterday and realized Instagram isn’t entertaining or fun anymore and nothing I do can make it so. It just feels like a constant stream of slop, rage bait, and really bad political takes. There’s the occasional post from my friends (which is what I’m after) but in the end it’s so… unsatisfying. it’s knowing I’ve spent hours doing something and got absolutely nothing in return. the dopamine hit isn’t even good. it feels like a shallow version of the real thing. I think it’s time to let that app go. no amount of unfollowing and clicking “uninterested” will give me a timeline that actually makes me feel good about being on that app.
