This is not the song I expected to post from the five song EP. I fully expected to choose Gardening at Night. However repeated listens of Chronic Town, this is the track that stood out. Primarily because it is not like the others. Sure it’s REM, it’s got jangly guitar and Mill’s melodic bass playing. I thinks it’s the closest direct connection to Stipe’s academic art training. What the heck is that second bridge? To me, it’s like a sound collage.
