Had first trip to New York and saw FKA Twigs’ first ever stadium show at Madison Square Garden, and it has changed me forever. This is an artist who has never once compromised her vision to please anyone; the fashion, the dance, the raw emotion, the ballroom, the queer joy, and the story behind her music are all singular. She dedicated the show to all survivors of abuse, talking openly about how her body has not been the same since escaping her abuser. Her work centers on "Eusexua," a word she coined meaning a state of euphoria and transcendence where you move beyond the human form; the show fully embodies that feeling. I cannot explain how some parts of the show made me feel; she even did all her costume changes on stage because "she has nothing to hide." Her mind is beautiful. If you have the opportunity, get a seat where you can see the entire stage. I have always loved her music, but now I truly see her, and I am so grateful.
