we sat around a fire and shared stories about my pops last night. one of the many beautiful things shared was my brother’s story, talking about how my parents didn’t want him listening to Marshal Mathers LP as a kid. my dad hijacked the CD, bumped this track in the car and said, “don’t tell your mother.” we listened to this song almost everyday from that point on. queens to LI. 5 years old to 26 years old. it’s just another beautiful example how music is a form of your own conscious and subconscious time travel. @billehtee
on repeat
things done changed on this side
last day of this much needed layoff. this song helped me get through some of the highs and lows during the process… cheers to new beginnings (& in this song, 2nd chances)
we call it ‘riding the gravy train’
around this time 9 years ago when i was 18, my dad dropped me off at the train to cover the nets for free. all I had was a dollar and a dream, but more importantly people who believed my dreams would get me where i belong. 9 years later I’m on my way to go work for kevin durant. and… i got to save my childhood home thanks to him. there’s beauty in the struggle, and there’s no life better than yours. always bet on yourself
sunny friday with some more basement tapes. dylan & the band pulled out a unique sound for this one
make the most…
i thought jesus himself resurrected and started singing this when i was on some funky chocolates. take me back to that euphoria
cale basically saying people change, be thankful for the relationships you’ve built, and move hell on with no regrets. another one my pops showed me. thinking about him today
