Can’t believe this classic ass album came out during the birth month this truly was the month that brought the absolute BEST out of artists and I remember thinking that there was absolutely no freaking way he could better than this and then he gives us his masterpiece a couple years later but that’s a later conversation...
Which makes me wonder what rap artists in the 10s dropped a bomb ass debut and then dropped an EVEN BETTER second album? 👀

25. Sade - Love Deluxe
This is when things started becoming difficult in my overall rankings. This is when certain artists made it practically impossible for me to choose their "best" album. Alot of this is going to be me just picking one that I’m instinctually drawn to and sticking with that answer. The sole reason why "Love Deluxe" is going to be the one that takes it for me is because of its implicit social commentary. Sade has always been known for their vivid storytelling while coupling that with a melancholic atmosphere to truly let the words settle. This album particularly takes that EXACT tool and expands its overall lens through the perspective of love. She/they really take the time to provide an outlook on the human condition. Plus understanding its direct relevance to day to day living. How exactly can something as simple as love become a focal point in one’s struggle throughout life.
Now that thanksgiving is over and the streets are starting to freeze (depending on where you live) it's about that time to get nostalgic and think about all the musical things that came and went. In a little series I started last year, there's gonna be the return of "In the Year Of" awards! Starting next week I'll break down my faves, least faves and everything in-between for our year 2021.

FKA Twigs - CAPRISONGS review
People are going to be feeling the ramifications of the pandemic for the next couple decades. It’s seismic impact hasn’t even fully begun to be felt like it will be in the coming years. I mention this specifically because it’s these moments, in the quiet, in the desolate, in the emptiness is when some of life’s most beautiful creations are made…... Now that things have leveled down a little bit and the sense of normalcy is being felt now more than ever, so begins the journey of healing. Enter Ms. FKA Twigs. She hasn’t been a stranger when it comes to opening about her struggles as an artist or more importantly a woman but this time for self-reflection she turned it up. This album feels like you pointing a mirror at yourself and YOU pointing at every form of insecurity you see, picking apart each and every layer that you notice while never looking away… even when it gets the most difficult to look. As she says, “this is a journey back to myself.”

After multiple years on this platform and so many experiences being made from the best of people on here I have decided to take a step back and finally move forward from the bop.
I ain't gonna get emotional because I'm a G but I didn't want to just disappear and not leave this app with one last last memory to solidify my run...
I decided what better way to go out then to go out celebrating my favorite genre of music that both shaped me to be the man I am and also brought me to places like here to make lasting connections and meet new people.
