this song from dodie's new album "build a problem" might be my favorite to analyse. basically this song is about dodie growing up and realising that her past wasn't what she thought it was while also realising that she needs to move on it's seen in the lyrics (past tense and then present tense) but also through the instruments, the song starts calm with just a quiet guitar then, slowly, a piano arrive. after that calm and almost quiet part there's a break down with heavy dark strings and stronger lower vocals where she sings about darker themes, "i great the sun and ask, have i already die ?" or even "it's time to let her float away, no i'm still crawling for the strings" this part is dodie's before the line feels like needing to separate ourselves from a sad maybe toxic/dark past. one of the lyrics that really hits the most might be "i made a promise but i break up everyday"

this song from Ashe's new album really hits the most. this song is about a friend or hers who died, and she learned it through a call. the whole song is decomposed in a piano ballad, then a bass track and then a drum track. to me it feels like she's showing through music her stages of grief : piano ballad is the depression, the bass line is the anger and disbelief, the drums are the acceptance. overall the song is truly beautiful and the voice mail at the end brought me to tears lol. "we always think we got time, but there's no time before it's over, and it's over." ps : don't forget to text ur loved ones it's always nice ;)

it's finally here, billie's sophomore album "Happier Than Ever" The album is a beautiful masterpiece with ballads, upbeat and even rock songs. Halley's Comet a beautiful and melancholic song about loving someone in the most beautiful way but not being able to be here (physically or mentally) "halley's comet comes around more than i do" Billie sings about the way she could give her all self to the point of insomnia during weeks "haven't slept in a week or two" to someone she can't even meet because of an unknown reason. The outro of this song gives the song a whole new character, to me it feels like the representation of the line "i was good at feeling nothing, now i'm hopeless". The piano and her voice are filtered so much that it's almost hard to hear everything clearly. Another thing i noticed is that the filter gives off an "underwater speaker" vibe which could be seen as billie drowning in her tears longing for that impossible lover. "you're all it takes to break a promise"

wow, this new single from Solar Power was really heartbreaking first of all, it's the conclusion to Ribs, the song about the party that lorde wanted to experience forever but "it's time to cool it down, wherever that leads" the song is a beautiful guitar ballad about growing up and realising that you can't live the life you though u could, she's been "burning for so many summers now" which is also a reference to liability "every perfect summer eating me alive until you're gone" finally, the bridge "i'd ride and i'd ride on the carousel round and round forever if i could" shows how much lorde wanted to live her "ribs" life even if it was unhealthy but realised that nothing can be timeless and forever but i don't know, maybe i'm just stoned at the nail salon... again...

this song is the perfect way of describing the feeling of a memory of an old friend who just came back into your life after so many years. "it's funny how you always remember" // "it's funny how i still forgot" this part hurts the most because -from personal experience- forgetting what happened and even more the good times hurts because you promised something you couldn't achieve. we're two slow dancers, last ones out.

don't have any sad song to analyse so here's my song of the day !! love the rock part it's so ughhhh eargasms every seconds

nothing to really analyse today just that LORDE IS FINALLY BACK AFTER 4 FULL YEARS OF DISAPPEARANCE!!!! and she's happier than ever, she's glowing and that video is just wow i love her to the sun and back haha ;)

clairo -my beloved- dropped her new single from her sophomore album "Sling". Blouse is a warm song about not being able to talk in a relationship (platonic or romantic) but i feel like the lyrics "if touch could make them hear, then touch me now" is intentionally sexualised in a way where Clairo needs to offer herself to be heard by her -supposedly- lover. the strings, the guitar and lorde's back up vocals are so calming in this track, it's a warm hug and a beautiful song to cry to. "why do i tell you how i feel, when you're just looking down the blouse"
