Hi! I’m from the Philippines and I just wanna post this song here as a tribute to the movement that was fueled with passion, determination, and volunteerism — where true unity was shown like never before and I am glad to have been a part of that. I am angry and sad at the results. This, to me, feels like a slap in the face for the Filipino people. It is disappointing to think how the same people that ousted a dictator are the same ones who made his son the president. “Pilipinas ang hirap mong mahalin” (translation: Philippines, you are hard to love) but we still love you. I hope and pray that we are wrong. I hope and pray that the dictator’s son will pull the country out of its misery. I hope and pray. To whoever is reading this, help me. Hope and pray for my country, too.
