Forgot to say Happy Nowruz 🦁 (Iranian new year’s eve celebrared for 3000 years.) Here’s one with Persian vibes. Also have a nice weekend if you’re in my timezone CET. 🌍
The Comet Is Coming is back and this album opener KILLS. This is one of my favorite bands.
Music has been my only true companion during these difficult times in Iran. I don’t know how I could have focused on my work otherwise. I’m thankful! Only one day left until my girlfriend joins me in Sweden. ❤️
I'm listening to ALL 30 US studio albums by The Stones and picking one favorite from each. 6/30 From Aftermath (1966) I pick "Paint It Black". Believe me! it's not my intention to choose the biggest hit from a Stones album and post it here. But as for Aftermath, there is an ocean of difference between "Paint It Black" and the rest of the album. The others simply do not even come close to the opener. They form nowhere near a quality Stones album. "Paint It Black" carries this entire album on its back. Just listen to the the idiotic and sexist "Stupid Girl" and the directionless random improvision on the closer "Going Home" to get what I mean. 👄
My promise to you is that you are going to enjoy this extremely well-crafted pop song without having any language skills in Norwegian.
Let's have a song with many things in it. First, a fantastic female vocalist was a rare species for a hard rock band in the early seventies. Let the song be funky and groovy but then we also want space for long solos. In fact put a solo there that reminds people of Sergio Leone films, maybe some Ennio Morricone. But not that Clint Eastwood-y Western, but rather more on the John Wayne side. Let the song be "The Mexican" by Baby Ruthe, and let it have nothing to do with baseball.
Did anyone else also get a push notification about the new version of Bopdrop to then notice nothing new? My phone is on automatic updates. Still looking forward to seeing the new thing.
Did anyone order an Eastern European breakfast?
Experimental hip hop, a middle ground between Death Grips and clipping. If you know of such HH acts, don’t hesitate to message me. The latest favorite work of mine was Injury Reserve’s By the Time I Get To Phoenix (Not counting Billy Woods’s Aethiopes which is a year-end favorite.)
