no long essay today boys just disco also today’s my grandpop’s birthday everyone pour one out for dave one day i will do my hair like donna summer mark my words

did my receiptify today & this came up as my 2nd most listened to song this month, which i didn’t expect tbh. the song gets its name from one of my favorite hey arnold episodes (behind the baseball lot episode, the heatwave episode, and the christmas episode which is indisputably the best episode). i always thought it was kinda funny to use stoop kid as like this analogy for severe anxiety/depression, because i mean, yeah, stoop kid was literally overwhelmed with a fear he couldn’t rationalize and he tried brushing it off like it was nothing. it fits, like weirdly perfectly. however… at the end of the episode, stoop kid *does* leave his stoop, & he’s a HUGE bitch about it. like as soon as he steps off the stoop he starts back with terrorizing the neighborhood kids. i wonder where the analogy in the song ends. like where do we leave off in the song? ANYWAY “my back is killing me baby” is my 2nd favorite car seat album. you’ll def see me talking ab it more :-)

got more stuff for my apartment today and, ironically, this played on the radio in the car. i still need like, soooo many things it’s actually overwhelming and stressful but i’m very happy to have people helping me and i’m happy to be able to move in the first place but i’m very nervous about when it will all finally fall into place anyways i LOVE billy joel & i think the stranger is one of the best albums of all time & 52nd street is a damn good album so i will def post more of him

bop drop yelled at me and told me to post a song that makes me feel like a main character so here’s a song my best friend liked

idler wheel is my 2nd favorite fiona apple album (followed by extraordinary machines, fetch the bolt cutters, & tidal, with when the pawn firmly at # 1, but there isn’t a single album i don’t like so pleasedontgetmadatmelmao) i was talking to my friend today about how there’s literally no way idler wheel was written by someone who was okay (correct), but then i started to think ab how *i* was doing when i was listening to idler wheel pretty heavily. ANYWAY stream hot knife, jonathan, valentine, & left alone. in that order.

i saw mitski on sunday and like genuinely i think she’s easily the best performer i’ve ever seen live. it’s hard to put it into words but the show just felt so personal? like we were all intruding? she would look out blankly at the crowd one moment & then make individual, direct eye contact with each of us the next, and she was just so expressive with every person she made eye contact with. like was she tapping into our pain with her expressions and thrashing and whining or were we tapping into hers? a bit of both ? not to sound mega melodramatic LMAO but it really really felt that way. still have not recovered

my friend alison got me into vocaloid bc she knows like literally everything ab every producer & it’s really cool (i obviously know like nothing compared to her but i still like it) this is easily one of my favorite vocaloid songs & if any of you guys have seen ‘revolutionary girl utena’ me n alison both feel like there’s so many parallels to the anime in this song (specifically one of the music videos for the song, i can try to find it n link it if anyone’s curious) anyway my favorite vocaloid like by FAR is kaai yuki bc i think she’s just perfect for lofi and chill funky stuff. i love how her voice is like quiet and rounded out & i rlly like when people tune her in a way that leans into that

this is one of my favorite songs by the cure off of my favorite album by the cure anyways y’all should tell ur crush the name of this album just trust me
