Wow, I've been slacking on sharing! Life is so busy, and while it's nice to distract myself with the excitement of the holidays, there has been a growing underlying feeling of dread and stress. This song has always managed to accurately capture my feelings when my mental health takes a turn for the worse.
I hope your happiness rolls in with the billowing chill of winter. I'm thankful for the sentiment that visits this time of year, it certainly seems like the time we need it most. I planned to share some Christmas songs - maybe in the coming weeks. Today, I wanted to get this one off my chest.
If this time of year is the opposite of joyful for you, know that I am thinking fondly for you. The passing years do not always get easier, and you are very valid in your journey through the rough patches. Much love.
Heard this on tiktok a few weeks ago and it caused me to full-stop. I won't write a novel of a caption for this one since it's explicitly clear on his own. I'm just really glad this song was written; it's been so hard to verbalize thoughts like these over the years.
My day peaked at approximately 1:19 this afternoon when I found out I got the job!!!!!!!!!! 👐🏻
Then slowly went downhill from there with minor inconveniences piling up on top of each other 🫠 now taking any and all advice on how to not get so worked up and irritated over tiny things. I bottle up things WAY too much for my own good. I do not like harboring bitterness but I am just so darn good at it.

Wild Party has some of the best upbeat, feel-good, happy tunes I've ever heard. I first heard Violet in a vine I think, and have made sure to keep them on my radar ever since. Happy weekend, let loose! You deserve it 🌟
Been a hot second, the days are passing me by but the weeks are so so long.
When I first heard this, I sent it to a friend and described it as "the equivalent of crystal wind chimes tinkling on a bright sunny day." Its even more appropriate now that the Midwest has been thawing out. Bring on Spring 🌸
I keep hearing songs by Lostboycrow and/or 1990nowhere that HIT DIFFERENT. I need to actually sit down and look into them so that I can hyperfixate on another artist for the time being.
In other news, I want a new job so badly. With all the transitions that I've gone through this year, I guess I want to keep the ball rolling so I'm not stuck in a place I've moved on from for too long. Do you guys know how hard it is to find a remote job in your desired field? Goin thru it. But it's okay. The weather is cold and I'm counting down the days to Nov. 1st so I can listen to Christmas music guilt-free.

Some of my favorite songs and artists I've discovered over the past few years are from that blessed clock app. Most recently, this Billie Eilish cover, which is an entire masterpiece. As a 23 year old who never shed her emo teen angst, pop punk covers (Punk Goes Pop vol. 8, anyone?) keep my hope alive in the upcoming generations of music.
In my early teens I was discovering most of the songs in my regular music rotations from YouTube. This was the peak of lip dubs and homemade music videos, where the primary audience consisted of super impressionable youths like myself. I think you could rap a CVS receipt and as long as one of those YouTubers was in it, I'd immediately buy the song on iTunes for $1.29. This one came from Strawburry17, I think. She was always my favorite.

Any song from that year absolutely hits. I was graduating high school and starting college, lots of positive emotions and change happening. Not to meantion DREAMERS just consistently make bangers, this was the first of many for me. What are some of your faves from 2016?

Anyway, I thought it was the funniest thing in middle school. This was the theme song and it still slaps. I don't know any other songs by Driftless Pony Club, but this song alone transports me straight back to my young teen years. Isn't it mad how one can write a song and so deeply impact people they'll never meet? I hope the small-scale artists know much they're shaping others even if they're not selling out stadiums. I love my little pocket nostalgia songs.
I'm not an angry person. Really. My most common descriptives from friends include "sleepy," "chill," and "funny." But even I have a secret playlist for when I'm about to snap.
This cover of nothing, nowhere is at the top of said playlist. I appreciate the level of angst Point North brings to their rendition; I remember driving to anywhere I could think of to get away from home a few years back, seeing red (don't rage and drive, kids) while blaring this on loop through my Buick (lol) speakers.
Anyway, back to my regularly scheduled programming of upbeat pop punk.
