the pain of having to sit there in conversation with someone brimming with stories, only to reply, “nothing’s new” how do you tell someone that you rot from the inside out? do you wait for them to notice the ghastly stench? no? no. i’ll scrub every inch of this declining vessel, carefully bandage up the nods of decomposition, swallow my bitter words, sigh and smile. because quite simply nothings new.
