there was a real point in my life when i pretty much exclusively listened to classic rock lol. i still love the genre so much & it is attached to so many memories and people that i love, just glad to have opened up my music taste a little more haha. there’s so much good music out there beyond old white male rockers. that being said, i love this BOC song :D

listening to more hip-hip/neo soul/r&b has helped me understand how intergral black artists and musicians have been in pretty much every genre of music that we all enjoy today & it usually goes uncredited. music wouldn’t be anywhere close to where it is today without black pioneer artists! here is one of my favorite neo soul artists. this album (mama’s gun) has to be one of the best records ever made. i fell in love with it in the first listen (which is kinda rare for me! it usually takes me a little time to really appreciate albums in their entirety). also p.s. thank you for all the love on my last post! this is a great app :)
