have been struggling with detachment lately so i did some much needed shadow work last night. i’m extremely self aware but i also feel things much deeper than i can theorize while im in “it”, add trauma/grief and those revelations aren’t always as objective as they need to be. it’s shadow work for a reason so i’m def not getting into all of it on here, but i’ll add a few notes that really struck me. 1. grief doesn’t define me (duh), but i exist with and carry far (far) more grief than i thought i did. 2. depression severely stunted my development/outlook but in return radicalized a desire to exist through love, acceptance, and warmth. 3. my inherent poeticism is a double edged sword that creates suffering for the sake of meaning. anyway self reflection is a beautiful thing when you’re in the right headspace for it, still, it’s okay to feel a bit melancholy after🫶🏽
