FIRST LISTEN: 7.7/10
the album was solid. im not the biggest weeknd fan, but he has a lot of really good music. after hours and my dear melancholy are the only weeknd albums i’ve actually liked all the way through. first few songs kinda sound similar, but they’re not bad just a lil repetitive. i love out of time, that reminds of a michael jackson song. a tale by quincy, while not a song, is still a good listen just for the guitar/bass melody alone. this song from the trailer lived up to the height imo. i also think take my breath sounded better once i listened to the whole album. probably an album i gotta come back to see if my opinion lowers or heightens, but it overall was a cool listen.

also, i remember hearing a snippet from the tour announcement video that didn’t end up making the album, and i was lil disappointed it didn’t. so i hope maybe he drops a deluxe with that full song.
Saba - CARE FOR ME: 10/10
i know the 4 year anniversary was yesterday, i just wasn’t thinking about opening the app at the time. but this is my favorite album of all time. which is odd because saba’s not even in my top 10 favorite artists. but this album is something that i love for it’s honesty. it’s very open and self aware and self reflective. certain songs that heavily relate to me and how i feel. descriptions of feelings that i’ve shared. also the musicality of it is amazing. very jazzy and soulful. on multiple occasions i get close to tears when i listen to it. this album is very therapeutic to me and i don’t think there will be an album to come that will recreate exactly how i feel when i listen to this. this album is perfect.

Cousin Stizz - Just For You: 8.4/10
this project feel like a victory lap. nun out of the box but it’s very fitting for stizz. when i heard the first single (Say Dat), i knew i had to stick around for the album to drop. didn’t have any expectations, and i feel like that’s what made this an entertaining experience for me.

(Saba - Few Good Things) FIRST LISTEN: 9.1/10
i think saba is actually in my top 10 favorite rappers. his last album had a lot that really resonates with me, and to this day “CARE FOR ME” is my favorite album of all time. so for that reason, i felt like he couldn’t top it. and he didn’t.. but that doesn’t mean this is bad at all. i been anticipating this drop for a minute and after the first 2 singles, i felt like I knew where this was going with it. i like the rollout for this album, from the aesthetics of the singles to the release of the short film (which i didn’t get to watch but im sure i’ll get a chance). i can say that I enjoyed this more than BLP, but only by a lil bit. i think my only complaints are the amount of features, but majority feel necessary for the album. that and the end of the song “soldier” should’ve been a full song in itself. i don’t wanna spoil the experience tho so go listen to “Few Good Things”

i never listened to a twat album all the way through, but i like this. this the typa album i’d play just to get myself through the day. something that gives me energy and makes me less anxious about everything.
