No you guys don’t understand she wrote this as her official declaration of leaving her sadness behind her and it’s the closing song on lust for life which is a groundbreaking album from her even though it’s not my favorite but for once her music signified her LUST for LIFE and her happiness look at her smiling on the album cover and she literally says “I wanna move out of the black into the blue” she’s done mourning her past this was her new era

My dad loved this band when I was in middle/early high school (which is coincidentally when I stopped pretending to hate the rock music he played me- I don’t know why I was adamant on acting like I had better taste than him for most of my childhood). We saw them in concert twice and both times were at really small venues with a bunch of middle aged men in the crowd. Had a great time regardless. This is still one of my favorite songs of all time
