I’m going to challenge myself in reviews where I don’t like the album to ask questions to the artist:
Where’s the passion?
I haven’t been the biggest fan of Mr. Harlow as an artist but I will say that in his previous work there was a sense of excitement in his craft. A person could hear him figuring out who he was in the game. There was a pai passion for the art. None of that is present in this album. It feels empty.
Where’s the effort?
And to echo the past answer to go even further….. I’m not going to say he’s a bad rapper (because he has talent) but all of the potential that he had in the past practically disappeared here. There isn’t a sense of who he is and all of that gets lost in the “vibes” of the album. Is that all that you want you be known for is a vibe or do you want you be known for your artistry?
The title of the album is fitting b/c if this is his trajectory then the potential of Jack Harlow will be missed.
2. Jack Harlow-Like a blade of grass
A JACK HARLOW SONG AT NO. 2⁉️⁉️. I know, I know it may seem wack on the outside but holy shit this song hit me hard. From the beginning of the song I thought it was gonna be another mid Harlow song but it just felt so different. I love the vibe of this song and it makes me feel a different type of way (pause). The person I associate with this song and the person I used to vibe out to with this song is special. I like how Harlow talks and has a conversation with some girl in this song and the crazy thing is I CAN RELATE TO THAT CONVERSATIONNNNN. This song just means a lot more to me then just Harlow rapping on this beat. The memories, feeling, and overall vibe I get everytime I listen to this song makes it one of my favorites from this year.
