day 3 of #fallingintospiritweek - a song that makes you nostalgic for a past fall this album came out my very first semester of college and it was my first non re-recorded album release as a swiftie. i also vividly remember emailing my professors to say i was sick and wouldn’t be in class so i could stay home the first day of the eras tour presale. on the second day of presale i took a spanish midterm then raced home so i could be on my laptop for the capital one presale. so basically this swiftie shit is for life lmfao

after rewatching The Odyssey yesterday i genuinely do just think that it’s astonishing. like it sounds fantastic, it looks gorgeous, the sound design is unreal…so many performances were so strong, i think there’s a magic woven within that film. the ONLY thing i don’t love about it is the erasure of Circe’s island’s entire story - like i love that lady but you can’t really include his trip to Aeaea without touching upon the affair and the fact he was there for a year. and where was Hermes? i like that the gods are invisible yet so central to the odyssey’s story but having no direct connection to Hermes despite his role throughout was a choice. but also i think the odyssey is allowed to be reimagined and reinvented and interpreted differently. Shipwreck scene is a masterpiece - so loud and tense. i think a lot of the odyssey’s suspense and success in being such a gripping epic is owed to the soundtrack and how fucking great it is. Can we get 10 more of these things please!!!
