i, along with @lippman , are pleased to announce the labor day bopdrop JAZZ WEEKEND SPECIAL that officially starts the #jazzdropmovement the purpose of this movement is to popularize real jazz on bopdrop and show people what real jazz is and that’s it’s more than just background music for a coffee shop anwyays here are the prompts: Saturday 9/3: traditional jazz (think dave brubeck, oscar peterson, bill evans, miles davis, and people along those lines) Sunday 9/4: progressive jazz (think domi &jd beck, telemakus, takao uematsu, kansas smittys. head over to @lippman page because she might have better references for this genre) Monday 9/5: favorite jazz band/artist (self explanatory) i hope y’all participate and enjoy. also here’s eric dolphy in his element. one of the most iconic and distinct playing styles and someone who really forged his own way in jazz. unfortunately it’s not until the last half of the preview but this whole song displays his style very well
