i’ve dedicated my body to be a thing that misses you and i have learned how to drive fast on that yellow dotted line and when i wake up i am empty and if you shook me i would rattle with every word we exchanged. i don’t get hungry anymore i miss you. i don’t sleep anymore i miss you i work and i miss you. when i lay in my bed i don’t picture getting out of it. everything you left in me is slow moving and heavy and i will bask in it for the rest of my life if missing you means there’s something left to hold onto i will let the rest of me fall away. if all i am is your absence at least you are here somehow.
