Today’s delayed train album is Miniaturas by Torso Corso, a small Mexican band that excels in this fusion of avant-garde jazz and experimental rock. With twenty tracks but only a thirty minute, the project comes across as little pockets of chaos, a jigsaw puzzle where all the pieces are the same colour, its unpredictable and disturbing. It sounds like Miles David if he had lost his mind, one minute its scoring a La Noir crime thriller and then next it’s in Eraserhead playing the songs of a mans descent into madness. The plethora of instrumentation throughout gives the album its edge, the erratic nature of the different types of saxophone mixed with the eerie piano and slam of the drums are all constant in this unsettling feeling, then on the occasion when the instrumentals fade you’re only met with distant murmurs or wallows, there’s no escape from the nightmare.
Thank you all for the kind birthday wishes. Truly means a lot to me ❤️ I almost ended the night in which I could’ve literally said “Today was a movie”. My friends and I were on our way home and a group of drunk guys were outside the train station blasting this song on a speaker. I’ve always wanted to recreate the final dance scene from ‘Step Up 2’ by street dancing in the rain. However, severe delays said otherwise so we had to catch the next train. I’m sure I’ll get the chance someday.
The Bear Season 2 is proper telly. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The music supervisors did their fucking thing on the show too.
and if I say i really knew you well what would your answer be?
Sure, re-release all the Mission: Impossible films many months after The Final Reckoning…
