20th of August ‘26 My muscles are sore from walking around all day in Oslo yesterday but it’s that right kind of soreness and you bet I will be doing the exact same thing again today! The other day my roommate asked me about me arriving here: ‘How does it smell?’ ‘It smells very clear’ I answered. I’ve been exploring the botanical garden, some museums, the streets and parks, I nerded out at a cafe where a scene of The Worst Person In The World was filmed, learned some Norwegian words, let the sun kiss my face and hid from the rain. When I was fleeing from a rain shower I stumbled into a place where this sculpture was exhibited, which led into an antifa shop. One of the people there gave me a flyer to come to their show Saturday; their artist name is Bob Vylan, come up with something better, I dare you! I hope you enjoy my favourite pick from the Munch museum, it’s called ‘To barn på vei til eventyrskogen’ or ‘Two children on their way to the fairytale forest’ 🌬️🌲🏞️

It’s the first of August 2026 and it’s been three years since I last posted on here. Lovely @loisdepois and me were virtually catching up and doing a movie night when she reminded me of Bopdrop, which plays a big part in the origin story of our friendship, actually. Lucky me in this weird little universe with its weird little ripple effects! But three years, oof. What song do I break that silence with? I dove back into my monthly archives —thank god for those— and went back to the August 2023 playlist. This was the first song on there. Big gem, I love it a lot. Maybe I’ll get back into this music journalling again, pour some songs and thoughts into the internet void. 🌬️◼️

The Devotion album is so soft. It sounds like the dim candles that show on the album cover. I dreamt of my long lost grandpa last night, that’s the second time this week. We embraced each other, I felt so at peace. I chose this one for today because it sounds like the way dreams feel. That might also just be how the entire Beach House discography sounds, it’s called dream pop for a reason. Still, I love this one, it’s pretty unique compared to the rest. … By the dock of the pond Turtle Island I will wait for you there Creeping silently I can’t keep you right behind me (post #8 out of 102 BH songs)

21st of August ‘26 Took a hike around the Nøklevann lake with this on repeat in my head, then skinny dipped when I felt brave enough. When it all comes down to it I AM just a child of nature 🌬️🏞️!

7th of August ‘26 Update: I made a ‘free the whimsy’ playlist because WHO needs more things to frown about these days —not me thank you! On my way to my parents I had to pee so I went into one of those one person train station bathrooms that have lots of space and did a little playback and dance to this song. Shout out to closed-off-from-the-rest-of-the-world-spaces like bathrooms, cars and karaoke studios, I love you. Also, did you know: a lot of songs turn into self-love songs when you envision the ‘you’ it’s directed to as yourself. That’s one of my favourite hacks.
