this time, a year ago when my boy 🐶 passed away, I wrote in my eulogy “When the world decides to bring you back in any shape and form, just know that you will be loved like you always have been.” in my ways, Ive meant every single word when I said that. Ive accepted what comes my way, believing that God will help me sort up the things I have allowed in & out of my life. Ive let ppl in and eventually learned to love them, as I try to let them find me in the ways they know how. But then I cannot shake the feeling that though Ive tried, Im still hurt. Does it [really] have to be that way? Sure, I can learn the lesson, but Y does it have to be that way?? I've accepted the zero-sum game. But I’ll never dumb down knowing how that made me feel! Sure, the idea that none of this will matter someday when we’re all far gone will try to compensate. But the chances of being the one to remember it for a finite life I still have, well—the pain will be there.
