officially became covid free yesterday so i got to come back to the apt last night. texted my friend that i was stressed and then we met up finally. invited myself to do groceries with my roommate and everyone’s shared mutual friend which was so fun and epic and yeahhh :)) we made soup (so amazing healing delicious etc.) and got VERY inebriated off some cheap ass sangria lmao or at least i did bc i fell asleep on my friend. NEVER recovering from that but she put me to bed lolz SO GRATEFUL for her in my life which i def told her bc i was feeling sappy. she was sober tho also very cringe drunk texting on my part she gets it tho she just did this to a degree last week. oh yeah so i took a lil nap got up ate chips bc i was still FEELING IT watched some of an old movie then tried to sleep again ~2am and COULDNT! i returned around 3am landed up taking both melatonin and an edible, and another nap. SO awake rn 3 hours later 😭 but happy with how the night turned out. incredibly impromptu!

My thoughts on Insecure after watching 4 seasons: 1. Credit where it’s due: Issa Rae does an amazing job writing complex characters. Even the side characters feel layered and developed. 2. Surprisingly, I side with Molly. I remember when the show was airing, people really disliked her, but I often agreed with her perspectives and frustrations with Issa. When it comes to her romantic relationships, though, she’s dead wrong. 3. Issa is very lovable, but she’s also incredibly self-centered, it’s kind of wild. At times, it felt like I was watching an ex-friend on TV. 4. Lawrence is written really well, but I still can’t fully like him. The best way I can describe it is that he tries so hard to be a “good guy” that he ends up hurting people anyway….not intentionally, but it still happens. Nathan is also beautifully written, and I think the show weaves in mental health really well through his character. 5. Out of all the men on the show, Andrew and Derek are the best.
