Randomly saw La Roux pop up on my tl, decided to relistening to her first album. WHAT THE FUCK WHY WAS SHE THIS GOOD?! (Also I will stand on 2007-2008 Kanye is the greatest rappper of all time because why does she have a random remix on “Going in for the Kill” with him and it’s really good??)

another random opener track that plays in my head from time to time. idk how else to describe this song besides it’s so meloncoly but at the same time it’s just gives me hope. I feel a lot of these songs remind me of old 80’s animes and just the texture of the song feels so warm (even though I have no clue wtf she’s saying lol) great album as well
yep.
Random 5am deep cut but this one is REALLY good it’s funny when you deep dive certain artist they have all these single albums with random ass “remixes”, Florence is one of the rare ones that has more bangers than not. (Another notable one is The Weeknd remix of “Shake It Out” back when he FIRST got on the scene, like Triology era Weeknd it’s nuts) I feel as a culture we kinda need to bring shit like this cannonly back. And ESPECIALLY bring back fun alternative pop genre bending Florence Welch not just “cosplay as a tortured widowed ghost from the 17th century” Florence people LOVE to push on us
No deep caption, just how I’m feeling right now.
I genuinely think this is the greatest Young Thug verse EVER. (if not EASILY top 3) The wordplay and the effortlessness behind it was absolutely fucking otherworldly. and the fact he rhymed the same word…. actually correction, he didn’t even rhyme the same words he found a way to make a punchline of the same words in the same verse. “Double R that’s a Rolls, Paint it Yellow like it’s Dairy, I’m talking Rose like Derrick, I’m talking Rolls like a belly” HOLY FUCK THIS NIGGA IS SO GOOD. Granted 2Chainz and Drake had great verses as well (the “she complaining how I’m late/I ain’t know it was a date” bar is fun to say at time related instances) but Thug literally left the planet when he wrote this this nigga is a modern day Shakespeare bro. I refuse to hear otherwise
Just saw a video talking about the Atlanta Nostalgia Wave of last summer. and specifically this project. and after relistening to it 1. this project is severely underrated tbh. (part of me doesn’t get why because Atlanta’s sound has been so deeply rooted in mainstream hip hop the last 20 years this doesn’t even feel like a “niche” sound even with this being a passion project) 2. THIS NIGGA YOUNG DRO WENT ABSOLUTELY BALLISTIC THIS WHOLE PROJECT This song and “WTF Goin” this man was doing backflips on the the beat. the pockets he found were nuts but the first verse of this song specifically I don’t think is talked about enough. we nostalgia bait a lot when it comes to older music and tbh sometimes take for granted how good certain people are especially when they were putting out so much quality shit at one time. But the skill level certain people had still shows when put in the right light
