So yesterday there was a state fair going on by my house. I decided to go by myself solo which was cute, til you realize it’s pretty awkward going to a fair by yourself. I tried to get on the big Ferris Wheel but when I got to the front I didn’t realize you couldn’t go by yourself and needed a partner. There were two girls my age that had gotten on in front of me and I asked if I could get on with them, they looked me dead in the face and said “hmmmm Nah”. So now I’m awkwardly at the front of the line with a bunch of people waiting looking stupid. As I’m about to walk off a lady with her kids comes up and says “you can ride with us don’t worry”
We get on I help her and her newborn and toddler get on and as the ride starts this song plays on the speaker in the background and I start humming it. I then look up and realize she also starts humming it as well and it helped break the ice and we chatted from there til we got off the ride and went our separate ways.

Just saw a video talking about the Atlanta Nostalgia Wave of last summer. and specifically this project. and after relistening to it
1. this project is severely underrated
tbh. (part of me doesn’t get why because Atlanta’s sound has been so deeply rooted in mainstream hip hop the last 20 years this doesn’t even feel like a “niche” sound even with this being a passion project)

This song and “WTF Goin” this man was doing backflips on the the beat. the pockets he found were nuts but the first verse of this song specifically I don’t think is talked about enough.
we nostalgia bait a lot when it comes to older music and tbh sometimes take for granted how good certain people are especially when they were putting out so much quality shit at one time. But the skill level certain people had still shows when put in the right light
Idk why but emo the hot topic emo rock era never appealed to me since a young age. I remember growing up and just being introduced to rock through 90’s grunge, 80’s classic rock, and miscellaneous areas of punk through skating so when I heard the skinny pants, highlighter shirt, dyed black bang, rawr XD aesthetic I never was hyped on it.
but now that I’m old enough to see the trend of it coming back around and being “cool” to a younger crowd (funny even seeing it kinda branch off into hip hop/rap as well) and the elder emos being shocked I never tapped into it I’m TRYING to find the groups and songs I did like from this era, and slowly coming around to it. hearing this reminds me of looking at TJ t shirt wall of hot topic looking for a Green Day shirt
I genuinely think this is the greatest Young Thug verse EVER. (if not EASILY top 3)
The wordplay and the effortlessness behind it was absolutely fucking otherworldly. and the fact he rhymed the same word…. actually correction, he didn’t even rhyme the same words he found a way to make a punchline of the same words in the same verse.
