Something about this album sticks out to me so much. Even though I don’t think it’s the best Gorillaz album, it’s honestly my personal favourite. There’s something so charming about this collection of songs that Damon made, especially since most of them try so many different things. I adore the trip hop influence on so many of these songs like New Genius and Soundcheck. And something about the percussion just scratches an itch in my brain. Not to mention Damon’s excellent vocals and DEL! My god it’s great. The consistent swampy feeling of this album is the main reason why I hold it as my favourite Gorillaz album. Although, it’s not perfect. A few songs near the end don’t need to be here at all (starshine, slow country and M1A1). I think New Genius (Brother) is the best song on this album and encapsulates the tone perfectly
