I didn’t give a shit about music until I saw how integrated it was with fashion. Kanye West and A$AP Rocky were a scratch surface for a teenage boy living through the Gen Z digital culture and social media shift, but it gave me access to acknowledge trends, style and brands especially in popular media. A year after A$AP Rocky had released “RAF Simons”, I had purchased a RAF Simons trenchcoat that was part of a Joy Division collection, ignorantly so that it was $1000 and I didn’t have a single clue of what Joy Division was. Within that time frame I stumble upon a 40th Anniversary Edition of this album on a red vinyl with a white fabric sleeve. The album cover alone gave me an excuse to listen to it on 900ug of LSD, and then watch music videos, and then watch documentaries, and then watch a movie, and then a full discourse on the bands career, I got scared reading about Ian Curtis. Pivoting moment, great band, awesome album, and great fucking coat.
