This song makes me so emotional. I was living with my passive aggressive step mother who not so secretly hated me. She never wanted me in her house and she made it clear. I was discovering who I was as a teenager, juggling the dynamics of public school as a former homeschooled kid, feeling abandoned by my real mother as she remarried and sent me to live with my dad and his wife. My dad was always working and when he wasn’t he was siding with his wife who would antagonize me and play psychological games on my impressionable mind. I suffered from a form of Stockholm doing anything to appease her and secretly just wanting her to accept me better yet love me. I was so unhappy in that house I found myself dabbling in medicine cabinets, mixing cough syrup with any alcohol I could find. Taking anything to escape reality. But nothing helped me escape like this song. Rest in peace Mac Miller. ❤️
