Schools will advertise for students to reach out for help but then won’t have any decent resources. For example, at my college they have 15 min appointments available to describe to someone the problem you’re having, so they can try to get you help from somewhere else. Sounds good on paper, until you enter the meeting and they greet you with “this is not a therapy appointment, I am not a doctor, and I cannot directly help you”. Plus, they don’t have a fucking online scheduling system? There is not a singular person I know, who when in serious need of mental help, is willing to travel to a physical location and set up an appointment in person. There needs to be way less hoops to jump through for anyone looking for help. It’s like they have no idea how people with mental illnesses like depression or anxiety function or something… Anyways.
