After 3 listens, I can definitely see some of the appeals of this album and can say it is good.It still does not mean I don’t have my issues with it. -For one I think this is Travis most convoluted album, I think it’s ironic he takes a lot of inspiration from Kanye, and this album imo mirrors Kanye’s last album in 2 ways. -Donda and Utopia are both WAY too long in duration. There are simply way too many filler songs in both. -The second problem is the theme, I think this is the least focused album Travis has ever put out. Travis always hasn’t been the artist to drop some super deeply thematic album, but at least they had a tone/direction. In this album all I really got was a contrast between the title and the tone, the songs themselves really do not blend together really at all to create a theme. -Another problem I have still is some of the features. Cudi legit sounds bored in his, 21 delivers an average verse, I did not like Drakes flow on MELTDOWN. More to come…
