for my final #sixtiesbop , i had to post one song from what i would consider one of the best eras for jazz…with the likes of monk, coltrane, mingus, guaraldi, hancock, rollins, even getz and gilberto with bossa nova all coming out with albums, it would be a shame NOT to post at least one song from them, which brought me to my own internal conflict - do i post something off of monks “solo monk” (1965, my favorite jazz record of all time) or coltranes “a love supreme” (1964, another great record and widely considered one of the most influential)? i literally could not decide until i remembered these two jazz titans had a collab album together. 7 songs, 45 minutes and 43 seconds of two of the best at what they do just jamming out and giving you some of the best tines when i run for president (im never running for president) my first policy is that to create more jazz clubs/restaurants, not to sound like ryan gosling from la la land, but i completely understand where he’s coming from 😄
