For my second naughties track I’m picking another (boy)band who were monumental to pre-teen me. Take That was the first ever concert I went to, and I can remember watching this music video on the tv 📺 #twothousandsbop

J Dilla was a modern day Bach and Donuts might be the greatest hip hop album ever made. Debate me all u want but I don’t think anyone will be as influential for hip hop as Dilla was. I stand by what I said, rip to a legend. #twothousandsbop

POV: it’s 2008 and you finished all your chores for the week and get to pick out ten $1.29 songs from the iTunes Store on the family computer to download onto your green iPod nano. You’re content with your choices, but as you’re doing your usual routine, pacing around the backyard pretending you’re performing each song to a packed arena of people, you realize you accidentally downloaded the explicit version of this song. You’ve made a grave mistake. You break down into tears out of fear your mom will find out. You run inside, tears streaming down your face asking your dad if there’s a way to swap the song because mom said you can’t choose songs that have the little “E” next to them. He asks what bad words they say in the song, and you say, with tears still streaming down your face, “I’m a vegetarian and I’m not fucking scared of him” and “don’t trust a hoe.” He says he won’t tell your mother and that that sounds like a terrible song anyways. You sigh a relief. #twothousandsbop
