🏳️🌈Pride Month Day 1: MUNA!🏳️🌈 For Pride Month, I am going to try to post a song by an LGTBTQ+ artist every day. Today’s song is by MUNA! MUNA’s members openly identify as queer, and guitarist/producer Naomi McPherson is nonbinary. The band’s music often touches on topics of sexuality and gender, and the band members also discuss their experiences with sexuality and gender on their podcast “Gayotic.” They have also won awards for their work uplifting the LGBTQ+ community through music. MUNA is an indie pop band that embraces the synth pop elements of the ‘80s and the lyricism and guitar sound of punk and riot grrrl. Their music is glittery, fun and perfect for a night out at the gay bar with all your LGBTQ+ and ally friends.

🏳️🌈Pride Month Day 25: Sufjan Stevens 🏳️🌈 Sufjan Stevens is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has released 10 albums over the course of his career. His music has taken on many genres, from indie folk on "Seven Swans" to disco and electronica on "Age of Adz." He is also known for his fifty states project, for which he originally intended on releasing an album for every U.S. state. However, after releasing "Michigan" and "Illinois," he said that the project had become a joke. He contributed to the soundtrack for "Call Me By Your Name" in 2017. In 2024, "Illinois" was adapted into the musical "Illinoise" that debuted in January. His most recent album "Javelin" was the first time Stevens publicly addressed his sexuality. He dedicated the album to his late parter Evans Richardson who had passed away in April. In 2019, he released "Love Yourself" and "With My Whole Heart" in celebration of Pride Month.
