ya’ll ever hear a jazz performance so good you start imagining yourself on a date with someone to the songs? 😭🙏 cuz go watch this live performance & picture us: you tell me “we’re gunna grab drinks” and i say “let’s go”. you got a leather jacket; i’m not that cold. it’s dark but not too dark yet as we set out on the town. us & the wind & the streets are all lightly chattering till we find a dark bar to tuck into. narrow & lively, but not crowded cuz this band is not big. we don’t even really like jazz that much too but they just happened to share this same den with us tonight. local joint stuff, where the notes & our speech are all rambling. And the drinks are cold, sweating like the palms of ours hands as we dodge looks into each others eyes. something we both want but can’t yet hold for too long as the sax releases another note 🎵
