funny how a song can bring back a whole memory. this came up on my tiktok & yk when ppl say “it’s like seeing an ex” this song is that for me. I wasn’t even thinking abt it but one of my bffs said “I first heard this song from you & *someone i refused to mention*.” got lil sad bc it reminded me of some suppressed grief. this song was one of the reasons why my friendship w/ that person blossomed. we talked abt this song, its lyrics, maybe… subtly, it was something we wanted to say to each other. except that person wasn’t an ex. we never quite figured out what we were back then. LOL ig having a mainstream word like “situationship” at least gave a label to what was unexplainable. listening to this, wowww i really got to know that person in a way no one else did & vice versa. lost touch in 2019 >> that person moved to other side of the world >> reconciled in 2024 >> AND I’ve been moving forward ever since. One question used to keep me up tho: did it have to be that way? empasis on used :)
