ok this is gonna be an overwhelming amount of music, but I wanted to share all my music rankings as we’re halfway through the year now and I thought it’d be cool to see if anyone wanted to look at anything lol. I’ve spent the last week going through all my Spotify and music account to see what I’ve listened to and when (as I lost all of this a few months ago and had to remake it) So what it is, my overall rankings of any release I’ve listened to this year ordered from my fav to least fav, and then I have it for each month, any release i listened to that came out in that specific month, also ranked the same way. so idk if anyone will actually care lol, but if you wanted to check it out, see where I’ve ranked your fav album of the year or maybe there’s an album I’ve missed that you loved and i should check out, or maybe you wanna check out your fav month! I haven’t been this impressed by a body of work from an artist I was not familiar with beforehand in a long while. This EP packs a serious punch with such a short runtime, the layered textures and perfect compositions of an array of instrumentation extend a world for beyond something you’d expect from 17 mins. You would be forgiven for thinking this piece was at least thirty minutes long for all it has to say. The obvious comparison is Cameron Winter and it truly is an accurate one, he is operating at the same level of Heavy Metal for much of this EP. ‘Me vs. Mothra’ allows for such introspection, it’s magical, poetry in motion, gliding down your ears as your whole world melts away. It’s lush and dark, there’s a feeling of uncertainty in his voice, his nasally delivery is off putting but at the same time endearing, you feel safe within the bounds of the lyricism.
