So a man asked if there was anyone from the medical field. Then he asked if any of them were familiar with the vestibulocochlear nerve. While others might humour him with, “Cranial Nerve VIII,” for some, it was unknown. He starts breaking it down; it’s vestibular & cochlear. A nerve tucked deep inside our heads, connecting the inner ear to the brain. One part for balance, the other for hearing. Then out of nowhere, he says, “You don’t have to be known in order to be effective [in life].” And I’m like… he’s onto something. So I listened as he explained that w/o that nerve, you’d lose your sense of balance. You wouldn’t know when the plane tilts or when the car turns, even with your eyes closed. That nerve quietly keeps you steady. It’s not something people talk about, but it matters. And when he ended with, “You don’t have to be known. You just have to be the best that God wants you to be,” I just sat there nodding. #needthat
