I can’t believe it’s been 9 years since we lost Chester Bennington. 💔🕊️ here’s some lore: for my 14th bday, my mom got us tickets to see Linkin Park on their Hunting Party tour, with Rise Against & Of Mice & Men as the openers. the show we had tickets for was scheduled for January 27th, 6 days after my bday. it would’ve been my very first concert. however, before their show on the 18th, Chester fell playing basketball & broke his ankle. our show & the rest of the tour was unfortunately canceled. & I never got the chance to see them again. I’ll never forget how bummed I was when the show was canceled. it contributed to how shaken I was when I first heard of his death. my mom ran into my room crying, saying “Chester killed himself, he’s gone…” their music raised me, & meant a lot to both of us. me & Chester struggle/have struggled with a lot of the same demons. he was a one of a kind person. I wish he knew that. I can’t believe it’s been almost a decade.
