what do you guys know about Standing On The Corner??? One of the most unique music collectives, it’s so hard to place their music into any category, they live in this surreal realm of nostalgia and abstractness, but they for sure scratch an itch that not much else do. The self titled album is a masterpiece, and it has one of my favourite songs of all time, ‘Girl’. They unfortunetly took all their stuff off streaming, BUT I implore you to go onto sound cloud or bandcamp and just listen to that album or at least ‘Girl’. and then whilst you’re at it listen to their album Red Burns as well. An hour long project with only two songs, I’m not sure how they do it but it’s one of the best bodies of work I’ve heard, I remember listening to it for the first time years ago when I was in the kitchen making a spagbol and I was blown away.
