#firstspiritweekof2025 - a song that changed your life. Ultimately this will always be my favorite Frank Ocean song and one of my favorite songs of all time. First Frank song I heard and it was one of the main reasons I really got into music. Many years later and it’s still one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard and I have such a deep connection with this.

I’m gonna post day 6 for #firstspiritweekof2025, but I wanted to share a song I found yesterday. I’ve been in the mood for new artists that take jazz into a new direction and Masego does just that. This album has a jazz, funk, soul, R&B, and hip-hop sound. He’ll throw out some trap beats and lay a sax solo on top of it. This song in particular interpolates The Cha Cha Slide, and it’s so smooth, I had to listen to it a few times to really pick up on it. A few tracks later, he interpolates Tom’s Diner and it rips just as much. I also got the couple of jazz albums in the mail that I’ve been looking forward to! Super psyched to have these, because these are some great underrated 1960s jazz albums.

#firstspiritweekof2025 a&a: siblings & i watching this show on our couch after school is it weird that when i think of home, its not where i currently live? i picture my childhood home and i guess its not that unusual but i miss it a lot. i am so thankful for my (relatively) new house, its amazing, but i would do ANYTHING to live at my old one again a week or two ago, i was with my brother when he was running doordash orders and one of them was TO OUR CHILDHOOD HOME. i literally sobbed when we pulled up. i got so emotional. help im crying rn typing it i would genuinely do anything to live there again charles & eddie: redo for yesterday’s prompt, this song is the real core memory- every tuesday night in 3rd grade, my dad and i would sing this in the car on the way to my basketball practice🥹🥹🥹 one of my favs ever one thing i love about snow is that its still light outside at 2:22 am

And then listening to this on repeat for the remainder of 2018. KENDRICK AND SZAAAAAAAA God was rly happy when he created these two THIS MAY BE THE NIGHT THAT MY DREAMS MIGHT LET ME KNOW ALL THE STARS ARE CLOSER 🕺🕺🕺 I love this song sm
