#firstspiritweekof2025 - a song that changed your life. Ultimately this will always be my favorite Frank Ocean song and one of my favorite songs of all time. First Frank song I heard and it was one of the main reasons I really got into music. Many years later and it’s still one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard and I have such a deep connection with this.

#firstspiritweekof2025 a song that changed your life okay SO I first heard this song in the car with the person I was holding a lot of grudges and resentment for. we hadn’t seen each other in over 5 years and they played this song and it made me see them in a different light and it gave me so much clarity and peace. I felt lighter and like I could finally grow instead of being infinitely stuck “I miss you, took time, but I admit it it still hurts even after all these years and I know that next time aint always gonna happen I gotta say, “I love you” while we’re here”

#firstspiritweekof2025 Styx just always reminds me of home because they were my first concert and I saw them with my whole family! So yea they hold a special place in my heart! Anyway today I shoveled snow (yay smhh) did some homework and watched more football!! Will say that SpongeBob and Patrick commentating football is fabulous! I was on a discord call with Noel and Phinney for a few hours to do NYT games and then Noel went to sleep and Phinney and I stayed on until 4am so ya girl is in a slightly delusional state rn! Pray we can all get some good rest now!
#firstspiritweekof2025 A song that changed your life ‘In the Air Tonight’ because it’s the reason why I wanted to play the drums and get into music back then. Also, met one of my closest friends during our first lesson in Year 7. ‘Für Elise’ because I learned the piece playing by ear. Spent a lot of my lunchtimes practicing in the assembly hall. I gained a ton of self-confidence from doing so which was very much needed!
#firstspiritweekof2025 lots of songs remind me of home in different ways: 1) temperature reminds of the bbqs my family would have over the summer in my childhood home and ice pops and swinging so hard the wooden structure holding it all together would move in a concerning way 2) mi cama reminds me as a kid being dragged to parties w my family in the Bronx and getting tired and sleeping on ppls jackets 3) round and round reminds me of making my mom put on Disney radio on the way to gymnastic class with my cousin

#firstspiritweekof2025 a core memory for me would def be my 12th birthday, my mom used to do themed birthday parties and this one was diary of a wimpy kid themed lol, a family friend made this poster w a random pic of me pasted next to Greg Heffley titled “diary of a birthday girl Sofia rules” in word art. Greg asks me “do you want to be a part of the pre-teen club?”……and I do not answer yes or no….i say…I’ll think about it, Greg….we did karaoke too and I sang this song :p look at this image at ur own risk, it is very powerful
