#mymusicportrait ๐น๐ ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ป๐บ๐ฎ๐ป ugh i almost donโt want to post this cuz itโs too embarrassing but luckily thereโs no real photos of it. anyways my fit for my first ever day of highschool was completely ridiculous๐: a t-shirt w/ Baby Carlos from The (og) Hangover movie on it, those white 2000s plaid shorts, black nike socks n black vans [a pic has been provided for more clarity]. You have to understand tho, all these things were popular at the time ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐๐๐ ok maybe not the t-shirt but Hangover as a movie was. It was still 2010 so dressing well as a teen was not rlly part of the zeitgeist yet; peak fashion was still like, Juicy Couture tracksuits n Ed Hardy tees. Anyways, i remember planning this outfit SPECIFICALLY to stand out. Not only as funny, but also to make me seem fun n chill [insert โiโm just a chill guyโ meme]. Which, it DID ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ข work, & i got some compliments. Mostly laughs n stares tho, but hey any publicity is still good publicity ๐๐ธ

#mymusicportrait ๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฝ ๐ Our last day of the trip + last day in Ireland was spent with a boat ride round a loch, and also riding a horse cairrage over a mountain pass so overall it made for a pretty epic closer. We also did some last minute gift shopping, where I bought my then girlfriend Stephanie a claddagh ring ๐ (iykyk) but unfortunately iโd never give it to her (iโll explain why later ๐tho u can probably guess). then we also got to stay up all night partying in the hotel rooms bcuz our flight left at like 4am. It was a fun time. I remember on the way to the airport too in the morning my trip buddy Becca peed her pants bcuz there was no bathroom on the bus and she didnโt wanna make it stop ๐ตโ๐ซ๐งป like i said, exciting trip

#mymusicportrait ๐ถ <๐ฏ ๐ ๐ผ๐บ dedicating this one to my actual mom, she loves the Carpenters & actually learned to play drums + sing just like Karen Carpenter growing up. Sheโs the reason I love the outdoors, animals, & music. We always went on family camping trips & other outings. In fact i spent today helping her garden ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐พ๐ฑ๐ฟ Sheโs put up with a lot. The worst/most embarrassing tho is probably on one camping trip when i was really young I refused to poop in the woods. To the point i started throwing a major tantrum. Eventually I had no choice tho, so he held up a towel for me to do my business and it was just explosive and got all over her shoes ๐๐๐คฎ๐งปworst part is tho they were taking home videos the whole trip and part of it is me throwing my tantrum ๐ช๐นoh the things we put our mothers throughโฆ

#mymusicportrait ๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ(๐ฎ๐น) ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ธ does anyone else remember this group? I feel like for a brief period they were super popular and totally paved the way for 2cellos and VitaminStringQuarter n what not, but anyways as a cellist myself at the time i was of course ALSO obsessed ๐คฉ ๐ป especially this song song cuz i LOVED ThreeDaysGrace & therefore adam but also cuz they did a song with Corey Taylor who i also loved cuz Slipknot. So having a group that combined everything i loved in middle school (metal/rock and orchestra) was very validating for me cuz i always felt both those set me apart from my peers. Actually a lot of things probably did that (i was never very conventionally โcoolโ if u hadnโt figured that out by now). But fr Apocalyptica inspired me so much I even bought rock music scores which i still have along with my cello, and i even tried to write a few rock songs on my cello myself as well (before i learned actual guitar).

I watched a lot of powerpuff girls and i also had big ears ๐ so my mom and also randomly my uncle always used to call me Mojo Jojo. Infact my uncle even bought me a Mojo Jojo shirt one year for my birthday (embrassing then, fond memories now). Sometimes he still calls Mojo for short, but not my mom. Also iโm sad Devo never liscensed their โGo Monkey Go!โ song for streaming, otherwise i would post that one, so iconic. But also I forgot Frank Black of the Pixies also sang a song specifically for the show, so thatโs neat. Actually their soundtrack was kinda stacked lwk. Must be all the mojoโฆ

#mymusicportrait ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ ๐น๐ผ๐น does anyone else vividly remember where they were the first time they heard this song? itโs my 9/11 iโll never forget it. we were at a hobby shop with my brother, dad, and cousin (my brother was rlly into model trains) and it was pouring rain so we were rashing to get into the car and as soon as we started it this song came on the radio 1077.7 the bone and we thought it was funniest thing ever (we were all like, 5th grade boys atp), We all still talk about it sometimes lol
