Spacetacular Spirit Week: space-related album/EP/single covers 🪐🛸🚀👩🏼‍🚀💫 Bopdrop fam, we’re made of particles that have existed since the universe began. I like to think those atoms travelled 14 billion years through time and space just to form us, so we could vibe together & share songs that make even singles feel whole. I remember this track vividly. Summer, July. I was deep into Quantum Entanglement & thinking abt my fave vow from TBBT. Twisted the first 2 sentences a bit for yall 🤓cuz that’s how this community feels: wholesome, connected, & vibing across the stars. I’m happy to be part of it. #spacespiritweek 🌚

DAY 05, Spacetacular Spirit Week 🪐🚀🌌 if I were hosting a space themed party, I’d base the playlist on the vibe of the atmosphere. if the guests are down for a fusion of classical orchestra & electronic beats, I’d definitely play a lot of Apashe (HAHA YALL KNOW ID DO ANYTHING TO BRING UP APASHE) 👽👽 But if the crowd’s feeling more introspective, I’d go with Nujabe’s mellow jazz sample & dusty hip hop beats. Also, would be cool if Labrinth were there. This song definitely sets the tone and ties everything together. #spacespiritweek

#spacespiritweek 🪐 Day 04. I thought of putting yall on to a Filipino (space) disco track instead of pulling from Western sounds. In the southern islands of the 🇵🇭, Baile was a staple at fiestas & town gatherings. Back in the ‘70s, when a man invited a woman to dance, it wasn’t just for fun, it’s a sign of respect, a public show of affection, & a sincere intent toward the woman and her family. Not sure how it played out up north, but ik the rhythm travelled. Tho the courtship style may no longer be practised, but I’ve seen videos of DJs blending old disco with futuristic sounds using this song. OFC, Filipinos always ace the singing part. BUT, the real one knows this song is ALSO genetically embedded in Filipino hips!! 💃🪩🕺

couldn't post mix songs from all the space TV shows/movies I love since I haven't unlocked that feature yet, but if I could, I’d be adding: ‘Cornfield Chase’ by Hans Zimmer (from Interstellar) and ‘Enter Infinity’ by Daniel Pemberton (from Black Mirror’s, USS Callister episode). I picked a song from Gravity, bc that ending scene where Sandra Bullock crawls out of the water, clutching the soil after surviving all the chaos in space reminds me exactly of what I think Katy Perry believes happened during her 11 mins trip to space…Also, mostly bc I rlly love the sound design in this movie, the way it leaned to silence at times, and the overall charm of the sounds during high tension scenes. 01001100 01101001 01110110 01100101 00100000 01101100 01101111 01101110 01100111 00100000 01100001 01101110 01100100 00100000 01110000 01110010 01101111 01110011 01110000 01100101 01110010 #spacespiritweek 🚀👩🏼‍🚀🪐

if there's one song I’d show to 👽, it’s this banger! Growing up, my mama used to play it every morning before school; it was the soundtrack of my childhood. My obsession w/ space started when she gave me a book abt how the universe works when I was 8/9. Pretty sure most of what ik abt stars & galaxies came from that book lol…anyways, if intelligent life exists out there beyond Earth, they better love this song!! bc if they don't, ig ✨taste✨ rlly is exclusive to earth. I mean, my ppl…We built da walls! We built the pyramids! & We’ve got #spacespiritweek on Bopdrop! #AliensGetIt 🚀

Happy Star Wars Day, Bodprop! 🛸 first time joining Spirit Week, huge s/o to @kingjimmy for hosting! #spacespiritweek The Imperial March is hands down my fave piece from the entire instalment. Ive even joked to my frens irl that it’d be my wedding song. BUT knowing the force behind my love life, I'm seeing that future from a galaxy far, far away. + I didn't grow up wit an iPad. Watching TV? sure. Could be same energy, but STILL diff. I brought my iPad to class once (back in ‘22 maybe?) & somehow that one time stuck in my college frens minds, calling me an iPad kid. I had to debunk it rq proving im a pen & paper girlie, cos nothing beats the satisfaction of scribbling notes with a ball pen. ofc for May 4th, here's my Grogu sketch from my early college MT era, back when I truly believed ‘This is the slay!’ 😂 dw it still is :))
